The story starts with 10 year old Christopher climbing over a new wall of fresh bricks – – which tumbled down with him in a heap. They were not yet dry. And so the ten year old boy tumbled unceremoniously into the presence of the middle aged fat man who had just put up the wall. Worse, he was the landlord.
