RISK TAKING
The story is told of a young man from the South who visited a friend in Wyoming in the middle of winter. One afternoon when the temperature was five degrees above zero, the two took a drive in the country. Seeing a frozen lake, they parked the car and decided to explore. The Wyoming native immediately headed toward the center of the frozen lake. The man from the South adopted a conservative strategy. He decided to explore around the edge of the lake, never venturing more than six feet from shore. To be extra cautious he even walked on tiptoes. Suddenly, he heard a loud roar. Turning his head, he saw a local farmer driving a huge tractor across the middle of the ice. He looked down at himself standing on tiptoes. What a contrast! The farmer on the tractor — he on tiptoes.
