ON THE RAGGED EDGE
The risk is what makes it special. Naturally, I don’t want to hurt a finger any more than you do, and I want to enjoy life today, tomorrow and the next day, but what makes it special is the calculated risk. To be able to take a risk and get away with it. You know, to do something that’s daring and do it well, to feel that you’ve got things under control. Maybe it’ll work, maybe it won’t. It’s up to me. You see what I mean? It’s up to me to set the limits, to say, “This is the edge right here. How close and for how long can you be right on that ragged edge without falling over? That’s the thing.
