IT TAKES A THINKER TO TINKER
After several hours of trying to put a newly purchased gadget together according to the instruction sheet, the buyer, in desperation, took it down to the old gardener who was working in the yard. The old man looked at the gadget for a minute and then quickly assembled it. “It’s amazing how you got that together without even looking at the instructions,” the man said. “Son,” said the oldster. “I can’t read. And if ye can’t read, ye’ve got to think.” From The Springdale Lion’s Roar, February, 1991
