RESURRECTION POWER — CHILD’S VERSION
I had a friend in seminary who had taught high school before God called him to preach. He had two elementary-school-age sons and was serving a rural church while going to school. One day he took his boys with him for a funeral. As was the custom, they all watched as the coffin was lowered into the ground and then one by one the relatives came by to throw a handful of dirt into the grave. It’s not a bad ritual. The boys watched it all, and on the way home the younger son asked, “Daddy, is that what happens when you die? They put you in a hole in the ground?” Before my friend could reply, the older son jumped in and said, “Yeah, that’s what happens. But don’t worry, Jesus is strong enough to get you out of that hole!” From Jesus Makes The Difference, by James A. Harnish, Orlando, FL. (pages 115, 116). 32819
