TIME TO QUIT
On January 15, 1995 Coach Dan Issel of the Denver Nuggets surprised the entire sports world and announced his resignation. His fans thought he was too well liked and was too good a coach for him to do what he did. But the bottom line for him was that he was not happy. His answer to the question “Why?” was simple: “I did not like the person I was becoming… I did not like being around myself; I can’t imagine that anyone else liked being around me either.” Who said that quitters never win? Perhaps quitters of one game are winners at a more important game. By Michael Hodgin
