SEVEN PRINCIPLES OF RATIONAL LIVING
In his book Getting What You Want, The 7 Principles of Rational Living, Robert J. Ringer presents seven principles that can bring success to those who incorporate these principles. The principles are summarized as follows: 1) Base your actions on truth and not on your personal desires; 2) Focus on value and not on entitlements by renouncing any notion of victimization and by learning to create value in a positive, proactive and passionate way; 3) Make choices through personal growth with civility, dignity, honesty, and humility; 4) Avoid paying “people taxes” to those who drain your personal resources by annoying, abusing, and presuming upon you; 5) Rid yourself of major encumbrances that keep you from what most matters; 6) Develop the self- discipline to act with your intellect and not impulsively by keeping your focus on future goals. 7) See your bad breaks as rites of passage, deal with them, and move on.
