SIN IS A FALL UP
In his Where God Meets Man, G. Forde presents original sin as not a fall down, but a fall up. Sin then is depicted as not a movement against religion, but an attempt to be more spiritual than God created us to be, lusting after the knowledge of good and evil. Theology keeps us down to earth, rather than serving as a ladder to heaven.
