DEVIL DEFINED
The Bible talks clearly about the importance of a person’s name. Ecclesiastes 7:1 says, “A good name is better than fine perfume.” Let’s look at the name of DEVIL: Take off the letter “D” and he spells “EVIL.” Telling what the devil really is and longs to promote. Take off the letter “V” and he spells “IL.” Not only will he make you ill, but he is the very essence of the word. And the very last letter tells you exactly where he longs to take you. If you serve him, when you die, you will go to “L.” No matter how you spell his name, he is nothing but trouble. Everything he wants you to do is backwards compared to God’s way. Speaking of backwards, even his name backwards describes him: “LIVED.” He is not life or living. Even his name backwards tells that he is past tense and history. Only Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
