NO AUTOMATIC COME-BACK
A school administrator was showing a visitor through a large modern building which had just been put into service. Calling attention to the clocks in all rooms and corridors, he said, “All the clocks are tied into a central control system, and they automatically reset themselves every day at 6:00.” Now wouldn’t it be wonderful if our human life were equipped with this sort of mechanism? — so that if we got off kilter, out of step with reality, out of tune with what is right, off track in any way, at 6:00 o’clock every day it would automatically reset itself and start over again! But life is not put together this way. It is not supplied with automatic reset. It can deviate, veer little by little, day after day, until at length it is very much off course, out of synchronization with reality, out of harmony with what is. And there is no automatic come-back. Pulpit Helps
