MISSION FIELD DRIVING
It took newly appointed missionary Cheryl Derbyshire weeks to try driving in Bangkok, Thailand, which she describes as like “driving a suicide mission.” Finally venturing out, she ran into “difficulties,” which have convinced her to temporarily “take herself off the road.” It started on a day she was to drive her son, Gary, to school and then go on to the local Baptist mission office. Both places are within three miles of home. While dropping Gary off, she sideswiped a parked car. “I am not used to driving on the left side of the road and forgot there was another side of the car to compensate for,” she explains. Then she got lost, very lost.
