NOW THEY ARE FAMILY
In an ironic twist, a brother and sister were reunited a couple of months ago. James Austin and Yvette Richardson, both 34 years old, discovered that they were brother and sister. This discovery was first made by Barrie Bowens, a coworker who is the shop steward at the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Post Office. The discovery was accidental. Bowens learned that the two step-siblings were separated as young children. His father took young James, and James was then raised by his paternal grandparents. Yvette remained with her mother. Neither had ever attempted contact. So how were they reunited? Bowens was a good listener. From her conversations with each she had learned enough from Yvette and James to realize that they had the same mother. She worked with them both. James and Yvette were also co-workers and friends. And now — thanks to Barrie Bowens — they have discovered that they are more than co- workers and friends — they are also family.…
