ALL IN CHRIST SHALL STAY!
Every year our community high school drama club presents a play during April. This year it happened that the play was “The Outsiders” and the date of the performance was Thursday in Holy Week. The drama focuses on a young teen named Poney Boy who tries to keep uncorrupted by the violence between his gang, the “Greasers” and the “Socs”. While in hiding he shares a poem by Robert Frost with his companion, called “Nothing Gold Can Stay”. How appropriate such insights are when we consider that all our beautiful Easter flowers will, like ourselves, one day shrivel up and fall to earth! Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay. In just a few hours our churches would gather…
