GIRAFFE GROWTH
Gary Richmond use to serve on the pastoral staff for Chuck Swindoll in Fullerton, California. Gary has written an excellent and humorous book entitled A View From The Zoo. I love the book. One of my favorite stories details the birth process of a baby giraffe. The author notes that “in my estimation the birth of the baby giraffe is of all births the most impressive. See it once and you’ll never forget it.” Gary should know. He spent seven years at the Los Angeles Zoo in various capacities. One of the most amazing things about this process is that the mother giraffe gives birth to the baby standing up! Her hindquarters are nearly ten feet off the ground!
