EQUAL INHERITORS
It is significant that Peter (1 Peter 3:7) forbids any inferiority-superiority spiritual distinctions between men and women (they are equally heirs) while at the same time he insists on the authority-submission functional distinction in marriage (submit and be considerate). Husbands and wives are equal inheritors of God’s wonderful grace through Jesus, but they are called to live out their redemption by observing their differing marital responsibilities as leaders and responders.
