LOOKING AHEAD
“Now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then I know even as also I am known.” I Corinthians 13:12 I live in a part of the country where I often wake up in the morning and peer outside to find our house surrounded by a sea of fog. Until the sun burns it off around mid-morning, driving can be both frightening and hazardous. Usually I avoid driving until the fog has cleared, but recently I had to drive my son to meet an early flight at Dulles Airport. As I headed eastward through a “pea-soup” mist, my field of vision was only about 100 yards. What lay beyond that point appeared to be impenetrable. But as I reached the horizon of my visibility, I suddenly noticed that I could see another 100 yards — and so on for the rest of the 50-mile trip. We did not break any speed records…
