EXPRESSING FAITH?
The late Archbishop Temple, when he was primate of England, once told this story. One morning, in a house where he was a guest, he heard from the kitchen a voice singing lustily, “Nearer, My God to Thee.” He thought this was great that she would be singing hymns and he spoke of it to his host. The host replied, “Oh, yes. That’s the hymn she boils the eggs to — three verses for soft boil and five for hard.” What a let-down that must have been for the Archbishop.
