MINISTER’S DILEMMA I
‘m sure you too have seen and heard all the hoopla in recent days about minister’s burnout, the minister and his family, etc. It seems the problems of the professional ministry are getting as close an examination in recent days as I’ve seen it get in the past 25 years. I recently was given a copy of Christian Education Times by Joseph Bayly and he quotes from C. W. Brister’s Beginning Your Ministry (Abingdom Press): The pressure of time may work against the minister as a family person. ‘If there is a villain in the minister’s story, his name is time.’ Lack of time alone with husband is the chief complaint of most minister’s wives.
