Mountain residents were breathing a collective sigh of relief recently at the close of the tourist season. Not that the Vail, Colorado locals don’t like tourists, No, they provide a good deal of the money that makes the economy hum. It’s just that they ask some of the stupidest questions. The hands down favorite this past season was this gem, uttered to a Vail ski instructor. The curious tourist wanted to know: “At what altitude do deer turn into elk?”
