PRIME TIME PASSAGES
We’ve heard a great deal in recent years about the changes we go through in our ages and phases of life, both through the writings of Gail Sheehy’s Passages and Daniel J. Levinson’s The Seasons of a Man’s Life. One of the best things I saw about this business of growing old gracefully into and through the prime of life was one of the sophisticated New Yorker type cartoons that showed a slightly older than middle-aged man standing at the bar and complaining to the bartender with these words, “I just wish someone had had the common courtesy to let me know when I was in my prime.”
