Last Supper,

There is a Gospel Story in which Nicodemus, one of the leading citizens of his community, wanted to talk to Jesus. He came to Him by night because he was afraid of what people would say about him if they saw him in Jesus’ company. Nicodemus wanted to talk to Jesus about His Source of Power: “You are a teacher come from God. I know you couldn’t do the amazing things you’ve been doing unless God was with you,” he said in effect. But what he really wanted to know was, “How do you do it?” In reply, Jesus seems to turn the conversation in another direction. He says to Nicodemus, “Unless you are born again, you will not experience the Kingdom of God.” Nicodemus was like most of us. Immediately, he wants to have it explained, literally, how can this be? How can a person re-enter his or her motherYens womb again? What are you talking about? Jesus very gently tries to help him…
