A college student was standing outside his dormitory building smoking a cigarette. Another student came by and said, “Do you have the same problem I have? Your roommate won’t let you smoke indoors?” To which the man with the cigarette replied, “No, it’s not my roommate I’m worried about. My professor says that if it is exposed to cigarette smoke, my computer won’t work.” Among other things, the story tells us a little about the state of that man’s priorities.
God designed us and made us for a purpose, and He guaranteed that the product would work. In fact, He gave us a lifetime guarantee. God guarantees that our human potential will be realized, but there is an important condition attached. To fulfill the purpose for which God made us, we must put our priorities in proper order, that is to say, we must put God at the center of our lives.
