Right For The Part

In one of the “Peanuts” Comic Strips, Charlie Brown worries about his chronic, lifelong sense of low self-esteem. He says to Linus, “It goes all the way back to the beginning. The moment I was born and stepped on the stage of history, they took one look at me and said, ‘Not right for the part!'” Unfortunately, many of us can identify with Charlie Brown’s anxiety. We forget that God looks at us and says, “You are right for the part. And no one else is right for the part. You are unique. You are special. You are you, and no one else can fill that role. And I love the you I have created — in My own image!”

Something marvelously significant and meaningful begins to happen to our self-esteem when we tune into this reality about ourselves. By the Grace of God, we begin to feel good about ourselves. We begin to feel worthwhile. We begin to value our life in a…
