Sermon Topic

In a Sunday School class, the teacher asked a little boy to explain the cause of Adam’s fall in the Garden of Eden. Remembering only that it had something to do with fruit, the little boy replied, “I think he slipped on a banana peel.”

If you slip on a banana peel, you are likely to suffer a bruised posterior. If there are witnesses to the fall, you may also suffer a wounded pride. It’s downright embarrassing to have your feet go out from under you, causing you to fly through the air and fall to the ground in an awkward, funny-looking position. That’s why the banana peel scene is so often seen in the comic strips.
