A woman was telling some friends about a very thorough “First Aid” course she had taken. “You have no idea how useful all that information has been already,” she said. “Why just yesterday, as I was driving down Main Street, I heard a crash behind me. I looked in the rear-view mirror and saw that a car had run into a telephone pole. I jammed on the brakes, ran to the scene and when I got to the injured driver I saw a horrible sight. My knees began to sag and I didn’t know what to do. Then I remembered something from my first-aid training. Immediately, I bent down and put my head between my knees and it worked: I didn’t faint!”
