Jesus called the Grace of a God who loves us infinitely, “The Pearl of Great Price.” In our own time, it has been said that “the consolations of religion” are being sought at “cut-rate” prices; that too many Christians are looking for “cheap grace.” Cheap grace means that the love of God is accepted as an idea rather than an experience. Cheap grace means that the forgiveness of God is accepted without repentance. Cheap grace is grace without obedience. “Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the Cross, grace without the Living Christ. Cheap grace is the deadly enemy of the Church.”1

You may know that God loves you. You may know that God loves you infinitely. You may know that God wants you to have life, and have it abundantly. But the mere idea of a Gracious God who continuously offers you life is not enough if you are to become the person you were created to be. God’s Grace must be accepted…
