The God who calls us sends us

In a 2018 study of nearly 6,000 people across the US, researchers examined the impact of volunteering on widows who reported feeling lonelier than married adults. Surprisingly, after volunteering for just two hours per week, the average level of loneliness decreased to that of married adults. This result held true even after adjusting for demographics, baseline health, personality traits, and other social involvement. The study concluded that the benefits of volunteering to reduce loneliness may be even greater when the frequency to serve others is increased. -1

The film “The Man Who Played God” was released many years ago. It featured the great character actor of his day, George Arliss, playing the part of a prominent, rich musician.
