IDENTICAL SQUIRRELS
A little girl and her mother were watching two squirrels play: “Mommy, those two squirrels look just alike. They could be twins.” The mother agreed. “Or they could be brother and sister.” The mother again agreed. “Or they could be mommy and daddy squirrels.” The mother admitted that was also possible. “But they cannot be grandmother and grandfather squirrels,” insisted the little girl. The surprised mother asked why they could not be grandmother and grandfather squirrels. The girl’s answer: “Because they are not wearing glasses!” Adapted from a true story as told by Carol Heinrich of Medford, Minnesota about her own daughter, taken from Country Woman, collector’s edition, 1993, pg. 12
