The Good News of the Gospel is, primarily, the Good News about Almighty God: a God of power, a God of justice, a God of Grace, a God of Love. It is the Good News of a God who takes the initiative, continuously, to call us into a union with Himself through which we experience wholeness of life and become the kind of person He has created each one of us to be. Jesus called this union with God “the one thing needful” because everything else in life depends on it. Everything!
One of the things we do as a people is to come into this place of worship to praise God and to thank God for the union with Himself that His Love makes possible. But we come also to learn more about it. We want to discover how to deepen this union with God. And one of the ways we do this is to look at the life and ministry of Jesus.…
