Jesus was born under a wandering star and every year in December that wandering star returns to remind us of God’s love for us, of who we really are, and of what God wants us to become. It should be a constant source of wonder to us that of all the things God created, we humans are the only ones who don’t know how to be what we’re supposed to be. If any of you have a little poodle at home you have probably noticed that that little poodle knows how to be a poodle. Just watch her and you’ll see that she is one hundred percent, all-the-time being a poodle. Or watch a favorite tree for a season and you will find that it knows how to be a tree, day in and day out.
