FOREVER AND EVER
Many times, between the cereal crumbs, crawling on the pews, and coloring on the bulletins, we adults often question what value a young child gets out of a church service. One recent Sunday morning, I got the answer when I overheard a regular attending two year old boy in a nearby pew ask his mother to fix a broken toy. Twice the mother tried to explain that the toy could not be fixed, finally exclaiming “Luther, it’s broken forever and ever!” Without hesitation, the toddler replied, “Amen.” From Ronald E. Leese in The Joyful Noiseletter, May, 1993
