CHRISTMAS DISCOVERED
A women tells of her discovery of joy and the true meaning of Christmas while shopping one year. In her own words: “One Christmas I had been waiting for some time to be waited on in a store. My turn was next when a child began to be very unhappy and fretful. His exhausted mother tried to comfort him but they had just come in and would have to wait a very long wait. I suddenly felt a great deal of love for these strangers. I got this feeling that since Christmas is a time of joy, this situation was an opportunity for joy. Spontaneously, I gave that woman my place. The look on her face was reward enough. This experience has stayed with me over the years, reminding me that through willingness to embrace our opportunities for joy, we learn to know Christ, God’s presence with us.” From Pulpit Resource
