CONFIDENCE
Larry King told about an interview that a reporter had with the great baseball player Ty Cobb when he was 70. On Ty Cobb’s seventieth birthday a reporter interviewed this great hitter. The reporter began the interview: “Your lifetime batting average was a sensational high of 367. That’s better than one hit for every three times at bat. “What do you think you would hit if you were playing baseball today?” Ty Cobb thought for a moment and then he said, “Well, I think I would probably hit about 290 or 300.” The reporter asked, “Why would your average be lower? Is it because of the increased travel or the night games or the different pitches that they have now or the artificial turf instead of the natural grass?” The reporter was trying to find out the reasons why in today’s game Ty Cobb today would only hit 290 or 300. Ty Cobb said, “Oh, no, its because I’m 70 years old!”
