A TIME OF DEATH
February 26, 1994 was a day like any other day to much of the world. But to the folks who live in Springdale, Arkansas it was a day of mourning. For the two young boys who rode their bikes to the downtown hardware store, it was a day to make amends. They had been caught shoplifting and had been offered the opportunity to work in the warehouse to make restitution for that crime. Boys being boys, one of the teenagers climbed onto the forklift and by accident ran over the other. Paramedics could not save the life of the injured boy. The boy on the forklift could not undo the accident. The man who owned the warehouse was a former pastor of a local church. He could not reassign the boys to another area and undo the tragedy.
