LIFE TO YEARS OR YEARS TO LIFE
No one outside divinity schools is seeking eternal life. Rather, they are trying to understand why human life span seems to be capped at about 120 years, why so few of us reach our biologically allotted maximum and why old age is synonymous with mental and physical decline. “We’re trying to add life to years, not years to life,” says gerontologist Edward Schneider of the University of Southern California.
