WHEN IT HAPPENS TWICE
The employee found ten dollars too much in his pay check, but remained quiet about the error. The following week, correcting the overpayment, the paymaster deducted ten dollars, and the employee complained loudly. “You didn’t say anything last week when I overpayed you,” accused the paymaster. “Well,” replied the employee, “I can overlook one mistake, but when it happens twice, it’s time to complain!” Jest-In-Time, January, 1988.
