In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. These words constitute the central belief of Christian people. “Glory be to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.” We sing out this great Mystery of Faith, we pray about it, and now we are going to talk about it, knowing in advance the difficulty of trying to put it into words.
Instead of trying to state it in theological terms as a doctrine of belief, we will approach the subject of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit in Biblical terms as an experience. In this way, perhaps we can better relate it to the practical, everyday things of life-like paying the rent, getting through an illness, making a family decision, relationships with other people, etc.
Biblical writers had an experience of God that was so rich and full and overwhelming that no one word, no one image, no one idea…
