THE COURAGE OF HUBERT HUMPHREY
I first met Hubert Humphrey in 1971. I received a letter from him saying that he and his wife, Muriel, watched the “Hour of Power” and that it was a great help to them on a very deep and personal level. He told me to stop in and see him the next time I was in Washington, so I did! When I found his office, I told his secretary who I was and she smiled and said, “Oh, Doctor Schuller, he really wants to see you!” Then she had a member of his staff take me to the Senate Chamber where Senator Humphrey was speaking. He was finishing, just as I entered the room.
