Suppose God had given us the job of arranging for His journey into this world! How would we go about working out the details? I have no doubt that we would form a committee and elect a chairman. Then the chairman would appoint various sub-committees, each of which would see to one particular aspect of the project. If we ran true to form, there would be a Welcoming Committee, a Banquet Committee, an Entertainment Committee, a Publicity Committee. The chairman might even decide on a (God forgive him) Public Relations Committee in charge of “no hurt feelings,” whose first order of business would be to make a survey. In the chairman’s words, “Let’s give everyone an opportunity to be heard. For an affair like this, too much hassling wouldn’t look good.” A questionnaire is printed setting forth a number of key questions beginning with, “How shall we bring God into the world?
