FOUR PRIORITIES
The tremendous allurement of the world is another problem. A survey revealed that there are four things most feel they can’t live without: a microwave, TV, answering machine, and VCR. God says we need four things too, but He calls them prayer (Phil. 4:6), Bible Study (2 Tim. 3:16-17), meaningful interaction with other believers (Heb. 10:25), and evangelism (Matt. 4:19). Regrettably, many times a new convert looks at our lives and sees that these four are apparently not important to us. So if they are not important to us, why should they be important to Him? A pastor remarked about a person who came to Christ in our crusade, “He is going to go great places for the Lord as long as he doesn’t get distracted by Christians in my church who have their priorities mixed up.” It is hard to challenge a new convert in the right direction if we have headed in the wrong one ourselves.
