It is said that those who dream by day know many things that escape those who dream only by night. -1 In other words, one way to make your dreams come true is to wake up and do something about them.

Some dreams come true, but what do you do with a broken dream? The road to Emmaus has been excavated, and visitors to the Holy Land can walk along the same route the two disciples take in today’s Gospel Lesson. Most will never share the disciples’ experience in this physical way. But we all would be willing to say that we’ve had our share of the emotional and spiritual drain they were under as they walked along their street of broken dreams.

They had been part of a glorious dream until this time. They had been with Jesus. They felt their hearts warmed by His Presence. They heard Him teach and preach. They saw Him heal. They believed all the promises of the ages…
