Mind/Thoughts/Delusions/Illusions/Solution: THE POWER OF THE IMAGINATION Dr. J. Edwin Orr told this to a college chapel service: On a fishing trip, Pat and Pete stayed overnight at a hotel. Pat woke, screaming, “I’m suffocating! Open the window!” Pete in the other bed, slowly emerged from deep sleep. Again Pat pleaded, “Quick, open the window! I’m suffocating!”Groggily stumbling to the window, Pete moaned, “I can’t get it open! It’s stuck!””Break it,” Pat begged, “I need air!” so Pete shattered the glass with his fist. With relief Pat sighed, “I can breathe now,” then fell asleep. In the morning they discovered Peter had broken the dresser mirror. Imagination, though mistaken, had exerted its power.
