Children’s Sunday Sermon

Good morning, boys and girls. There is a passage in the Bible that says, “It is true, Jesus was the Son of God.” That’s what one of the men said who saw Jesus on the Cross.
Boys and girls, how do we know that Jesus was the Son of God? The Bible gives us many examples of how Jesus was the perfect image of God. We see it in his goodness. We see it in his compassion. We see it in His caring.
He fed the hungry … cured the sick … helped people in need. And those are just a few examples of the goodness of Jesus.
But just as Jesus did the work of God while He was here on earth, we now are expected to do the work of God while we are here on earth. What are some of those things we should be doing, boys and girls?
Why not try to be . . .
More friendly to someone who is lonely
More helpful to someone who is weaker
More generous with someone who has less
More forgiving to someone who may have hurt you.
When you try to do some of those things, you will become more like the person God wants you to be! Just like the man who knew that Jesus was the Son of God — if you do these things, others will also know that you are a member of God’s loving family!
