PRAYERS FOR WORSHIP

Greeting
I am the Way — follow Me.
I am the Bread — partake of Me.
I am the Truth — believe in Me.
I am the Light and the Life — become a part of Me.
Penitential Prayer
Father, Your Son has invited us to eat the Bread of Life,
but instead, we are bloated from our own spiritual junk food.
We feed upon advertisements that promise good living but not necessarily good life.
We feed upon the psychology of “Do it if it feels good,” even if it isn’t good.
We allow our children to feed upon a daily diet of mindless TV violence.
Father, forgive us
for eating garbage
and turning down the True Bread of Life.
Blessing
May the Truth of the Father,
the Way of the Son,
and the Light of the Spirit
be with you now and always.
May you feed on the True Bread of Life,
now and always.

Those who are aware of His Word
Have come to worship the mystery and majesty
of the Trinity.
Penitential Prayer
If you regret your temper,
ask for forgiveness.
If you regret your ego,
ask for forgiveness.
If you regret your greed,
ask for forgiveness.
If you regret your family failures,
ask for forgiveness.
If you regret your corruption,
ask for forgiveness.
If you regret your selfishness,
ask for forgiveness.
If you regret your violence,
ask for forgiveness.
If you regret your deceptions,
ask for forgiveness.
If you regret your bitterness,
ask for forgiveness.
If you regret your irresponsibility,
ask for forgiveness.
Ask for forgiveness, and it shall be granted.
Blessing
You came seeking help,
You came seeking love,
You came seeking forgiveness,
And you came seeking peace.
Now you may go,
for these things have been granted.

Greeting
As committed Christians, we follow Jesus on the straight and narrow path of doing the Father’s Will.
No going around in circles.
Just straight ahead!
Penitential Prayer
Because we are less than eager to hear straight talk from Jesus, our lives keep going around in circles.
Because we are reluctant to hear straight talk from Jesus, we are going nowhere with our lives.
Because we are only too eager to go our own way, spiritually speaking, we just keep going around in circles.
Love one another as I have loved you. That’s straight talk from the Lord Jesus Christ. That is the straight and narrow path on which to follow the Lord Jesus.
Father, forgive us for just going ’round and ’round.
Blessing
Go forth now in the Spirit of New Life in Christ. No more going around in circles, but straight ahead, in pursuit of a life of love.

of immediacy,
of urgency,
of deep commitment,
so characteristic of the Master.
Penitential Prayer
For our hesitation in the business of Christian living:
our lack of immediacy,
our lack of urgency,
our lack of deep commitment,
we ask Your merciful forgiveness, Lord!
Blessing
For the committed Christian, there is no tomorrow, no next week, no time for hesitation.
For the committed Christian, the Revolution of heart mind and soul is now.
Let us go, now, in the spirit of deepest commitment to Jesus’ Revolution of Love.

Death and evil are conquered.

You live in Resurrection Time.
Hear the Word of the Lord…
And then pass it on!

Heavenly Father,
How often it appears that the structures of this world depend upon our acting on a level beneath the dignity to which You are calling us!
How often it appears that we are unmindful of our capacity to seek Your glory above our own!
How often do we appear unaware of our calling to be living reflections of Christ, our Model and our Savior!
How often it appears that we are uncommitted to the ministry of love to which You have appointed us!
How often it appears that we are less than devoted to our mission of sharing the Good News that the “Reign of God is at hand!”
Heavenly Father,
for our lack of dignity,
for our mindless drifting through life,
for our lack of devotion to building Your Kingdom of peace and brotherhood,
for our failure to be Jesus’ true disciples,
we ask Your merciful forgiveness!
Blessing
We go in the certain knowledge
that we are made in God’s image
and that we are destined for fulfillment
in His eternal service.
