A pandhandler varied his usual pleas for money when he saw a prosperous-looking businessman coming down the street. He approached the man and said “Look, I don’t want to try to give you a snow job. I need a drink. Will you buy me one?” The businessman, who was an admirer of truth and candor wherever he met it, decided to respond positively to this forthright approach.
