PRAYERS FROM THE PEOPLE
Do you ever encourage people in your congregation to write out prayers that could be used in worship, public or private? No, I haven’t either. But one of our members wrote some out anyhow. And, frankly, I like them. Here’s two prayers that touched me. They were written by one of our members, Barbara Erb: At this moment, O Lord, I am indeed in stress. I feel harrowed and frustrated, fearful of not finishing on time. I confess my doubt of your ability — I commit to you the next 24 hours — that you will run the schedule. I look to You for peace of mind, peace of heart. I confess anger in attitude. Cleanse me, O Holy Spirit, that I might walk up rightly in your way, with your precepts as my guide. O God most Holy — send to me a word of comfort and fulfillment from you. Amen O Spirit of Hope, of Love, of Longing,…
