When we allow Christ to have His way with us, we are given power and strength to overcome our destructive habits and compulsions, power and strength to move through suffering and crisis when they overtake us, power and strength to carry out our life’s mission in obedience to God’s Will, power and strength to become the fulfilled human persons God made us to be, power and strength to be a unifying presence in a divided world.
In the time of the early Church, there was a sharp division on the question of conversion to Christianity. If a Gentile was going to become a Christian, did he need to become a Jew first?
