IN AN EMERGENCY

It seems that a mother mouse felt that the time had come to introduce her baby mice to the larger world. So, having cautioned them that they must pay strict attention to what their mother does, she proceeded to lead them out of their mouse hole. Upon leaving the hole and entering the living room she suddenly saw a big cat sleeping a few yards away in the midst of her intended path. Frightened at what lay ahead but not wanting to appear cowardly to her children, the mouse led her family silently forward. Just as she was creeping past the cat, the cat’s eyes popped open and she raised her paw. What was Mother Mouse to do to save her children from peril?
