I recently read the new Word biography Bob Pierce: This One Thing I Do by Franklin Graham with Jeanette Lockerbie. Pierce, you may recall, was the founder of both World Vision and The Samaritan’s Purse. Among other things, this fascinating biography is loaded with inspiring stories of the amazing people that Bob dealt with and ministered to (and through) over the years. I would like to share just one of these stories. You can find the story in more expanded form in the book on pages 115-121. Dr. Charles McCoy was the pastor of a Baptist Church in Oyster Bay, New York. At age seventy- two his denomination insisted he take retirement. He was a tall (6′ 4″) man with white hair.
