A political analyst in the U.S.A. once said that among the many characteristics of persons who aspire to the nation’s highest office, a certain amount of arrogance is evident. To demonstrate, he told the following story:
After a hard day’s campaigning for the Office of President of the United States, candidate Ross Perot went to sleep and dreamed that he and two others who had been Presidential candidates died and went to Heaven. They were immediately brought before the Lord who was seated on His throne.
The Lord asked the first candidate: “What is your name and what have you done to merit being here?” To which the first candidate replied, “My name is George Bush and I served four years as President of the United States.” He went on to tell the Lord all that he had done for Americans and for others around the world. “Welcome,” said the Lord, “take the seat on my right.”
